Veterinary physiotherapy tailored to your companion and you

If there is any information that you require or cannot find on this page, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Appointments for all patients will last for approximately 1 hour.

During your appointment, I will carry out an assessment of how your animal is moving (dynamic assessment) and ask you questions to form a picture of your animal’s history and their daily routine. I will also carry out a static assessment, by palpating your animal’s body, including skeletal structure, joints and musculature. I will then devise a treatment plan based on my findings and any areas that might require more attention. Treatment will vary by animal, depending on their needs, but can include massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, stretches, use of electrotherapy and functional exercises. Depending on goals, progress and the willingness of your pet, I may also prescribe some exercises as ‘homework’ to ensure you and your animal are getting the most benefits from physiotherapy. I may also make some recommendations on other things you can do around the house or environment to best help your animal, and am happy to discuss things like nutrition.

Appointment Structure

  • Cats

    Home visit - £55

    Clinic visit - £50

I am passionate about providing cats with the same opportunities as dogs and other pets. Cats can respond very well to physio and often enjoy it just as much as dogs!

I am a self proclaimed crazy cat lady of the strong opinion that a majority of cats can be won round, given a the time and space to be able to trust you. I pride myself on being able to befriend most cats and am no stranger to a ‘spicy’ kitty. Even if your cat is not a fan of being touched, I am still able to carry out an assessment, treat them with ‘hands off’ techniques and advise you on home and husbandry adaptations where required.

If you are considering physiotherapy for your feline friend but are still unsure, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to discuss the best option for you and your pet.

  • Dogs

    Home visit - £60

    Clinic visit - £55

I have a wealth of experience with dogs, having grown up with several cross breeds and now having my own Labrador, who has certainly proved challenging at times!

My nursing career has provided me with an enormous amount of experience with dogs of varying temperaments, as well as knowledge on dog behaviour. I believe that my prior career has given me the edge over other vet physios in being able to understand your dog on a deeper level, allow me to provide a service tailored to you and your dog's needs.

I strive to be a fear-free practitioner, providing a gentle approach. I prefer to work with the patient within their comfort zone and adapt my technique in order to provide the most positive and rewarding experience possible.

  • Horses

    Per visit - £60

Before starting my course, I was fortunate enough to regularly volunteer in the stables at Calvert Exmoor, where I reignited a love for horses that I had as a child.

Although I do not necessarily have the strong equine background that other vet physios possess, I have enjoyed treating horses as a student far more than I thought, and found that treating them has come very naturally.

I am grateful to have had mentors that have encouraged me to offer physio to horses, as I had great success with equine treatments as a student. I have found that I prefer carrying out manual therapy on most horses, finding this yields best response for me personally, that can be supplemented with electrotherapies and exercise prescription to optimise the results that physio can offer.

As with smaller animals, I am passionate about ensuring horse welfare and providing a positive experience.

‘Nice to Meet You’ Sessions

I want every animal I see to be comfortable in my presence and consenting to treatment. Many dogs suffer with some level of anxiety in new places or with new people and, although many are able to cope with this well, there are also many who don’t! These dogs (and most cats!) just need more time and space to feel comfortable with a new situation.

To help your anxious pet feel most comfortable, I am offering ‘Nice to Meet You’ sessions at a reduced rate and different structure to a regular appointment. These sessions will be 30 minutes long and will involve minimal hands on therapy. I have designed these sessions with the clinic environment in mind, but am also able to carry these out in your home if you prefer.

They are set up to be very relaxed, with no pressure put on your pet. Your pet will be free to greet me in their own time and allowed to freely walk around and explore the clinic or treatment area in your home, and check out strange looking equipment without needing to do anything challenging! Depending on how your pet responds, we may be able to try some very light massage to start desensitising them to manual treatment.

These sessions are also extremely useful to discuss your pet's medical history in detail and set goals that you would like to achieve, allowing us to fully maximise the time in following sessions for treatments and exercise plans.
